What Makes Attorney Justin R. Key Uniquely Qualified To Represent You?

Justin focuses his practice on helping individuals and families through some of their most difficult times with his skill and experience in family court litigation, including divorce & legal separation, child custody, child support, high-asset and business disputes, spousal support (alimony / maintenance), and domestic violence (EPO / DVO) cases, in addition to marriage agreements (including “prenup” and postnuptial agreements). He was previously chosen by Judge Stephen M. George of Jefferson Family Court in Louisville to represent parents, grandparents, and others on the DNA (dependency, neglect, and abuse) docket.

Justin lives in Louisville and is a black belt in Taekwondo. When not practicing family law in Louisville or southern Indiana, or managing Goldberg Simpson’s Indiana office, he enjoys playing tennis and spending time with his wife, daughter, son, two (2) dogs and cat at local Kentuckiana parks.

Justin has been trained in the collaborative family law process to help those that can proceed with an uncontested divorce, but is prepared to go to trial if the case requires resolution by the family court judge. He enjoys helping those who have been through the separation process and may need to modify or terminate certain obligations after their divorce decree has been entered (often called post-decree litigation) and has also assisted individuals and couples with bankruptcy matters to help those facing a divorce cope with financial struggles.

Justin credits his passion for technology for much of his success in helping clients through difficult legal situations. His tech skills were established while graduating near the top of his class from Murray State University and the Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville, allowing him today to provide cutting-edge access to tools and resources to his team and clients for optimal results. Justin occasionally writes about technology at http://www.jkeyjd.com.

Justin is a member of the family law sections of the Kentucky Bar Association, Louisville Bar Association, and the domestic law section of the Kentucky Justice Association. He is the secretary/treasurer of the local Clark County Bar Association Indiana, and is also a member of the Indiana State Bar Association.

His community activities include assisting elderly and underprivileged individuals at Legal Aid Wills Clinics and helping children through Project Role Model at the Family Scholar House. He also speaks at high schools through the C.A.R.E. program founded by a bankruptcy judge to help high school seniors prepare for the real world from a financial perspective and avoid credit problems that can lead to divorce and bankruptcy.
